Handblown glass with spectacular details, our Nebbia collection in Cobalt Blue and Avventurina glass gives this piece a metallic sparkle. Examining this collection carefully you will find a wonderful example of "controlled bubble glass", in which bubbles are perfectly spaced and suspended in the glass.
Controlled bubble glass, also known as Bullicante, is glass that’s embedded with bubbles. Popular during the 1950s among Murano glass artists, the bubbles are created by rolling the molten glass on a metal surface covered in sharp spikes, poking holes that are then covered with another layer of glass, trapping air in the holes.
Avventurina is one of the most popular Murano Glass techniques, distinguished by its look of sparkling particles captured inside the translucent glass.
