Murano Avventurina glass is a glassmaking technique that began on the island of Murano in Venice during the 17th century. This method involves embedding sparkling particles within translucent glass, creating a shimmering effect reminiscent of a starry night sky. The name derives from the Italian phrase "all'avventura," meaning "by chance," as the technique was discovered accidentally when a glass artisan inadvertently dropped metal shavings into the glass mixture.
