Our Florentine Mosaic Rosary is carefully handcrafted in Florence, Italy. By using a traditional Florentine method, a skilled glass artisan carefully slices Murano glass into thin pieces to create these one-of-a-kind rosary.
This unparalleled style of art, known as Byzantine mosaics, has remained unchanged since its origins in 5th-century Ravenna, Italy. It is an intricate and precise technique that saw a resurgence in 19th-century Florence, where each vibrant thread of enameled glass is carefully cut and placed to form distinctive and unique designs. Today, the creation of these mosaics is meticulously executed by a dwindling community of skilled artisans.
